RE: Day/Nite shade removal - Pace Arrow Vision

I just installed a D/N shade last night that matched my existing ones on the other windows. There are 2 or 3 spring clips. They are there... trust me. Run your fingers along the back side of the frame of the shade..( closest to the wall of the coach) you will eventually run into one of the clips maybe 6" from each edge. There will be a small tab hanging over, put your finger on the tab and push away from the shade while twisting the shade away from the tab. You will need to do it to all of the clips. They will break away one at a time. Good luck!!

RE: Need Help Trailer Brake wiring

I will look in the spare tire section to see if it is there. I used my tailer this weekend without the trailer brakes and no issues. It looks like I need to get a manual for the ford chassis to get an idea of what each of the fuses do so I can get the right fuse installed for the 12 volts that goes to the back end of the coach. Other than that, I will prolly have to run the blue wire to the back of the coach for the brakes. Thanks

Need Help Trailer Brake wiring

OK folks, I need a group hug and then some help here.
I have an 02 National Sea Breeze 8311 on a Ford chasis. I recently purchased the moho so I need to wire up my electric brakes to my trailer. I purchased a Prodigy controller and found the pigtail under the dash that connects to the controller. Problem is that I don't have a trailer brake wire at the back of the coach. The color of the wire is blue as it goes into the wiring harness of the coach under the dash. It's a massive harness and I don't dare undo it to trace the wires. I don't have a ford diagram for where the wires go after they leave the dash and that's where you guys come in. Where can I pick up that blue wire to get it to the rear of the coach or does it already go to the back of the coach but is tucked somewhere sneaky?
And as a bonus, I know there is usually a 12v lead from the coach to charge a battery in the trailer. None of my wires at the trailer pigtail have a live 12 volts. It's prolly just a fuse at the fusebox that is not installed.
Any help would be apprciated.

I like the idea of a towed pick-up and carrying the bike. Best idea so far. Thanks.

RE: Consistent noise from V-10

Thanks for the input guys. I will check the wheel cap and the tranny cover. Please note, this is NOT RPM related, this is MPH related.. big difference.
I've already checked the ex. manifolds. I've heard that the bolts snap on these things but all of mine are fine.
Thanks again.

Towing or Carrying a Harley or Gold Wing

I got back last week from Sturgis. I rode my friends Road King for 2 weeks and 4000 miles. We've been thinking of getting a toad and now I am thinking of getting a Harley to use as a Toad when we go camping.
How do you guys haul your bikes? Do you use small trailers or are there carriers that can hook up to the back of the moho that will carry a heavy touring bike. All thoughts are appreciated.
Cheers

Consistent noise from V-10

I have an 02 National Sea Breeze 8311 with a Ford V-10. Coach only has 10k miles on it. I just bought it a couple months ago and noticed this weird noise at speed.
As the coach gets to 52 mph, I hear a ting ting ting ting from the engine compartment. As I hit 56 mph, it goes away. This is not related to engine RPM. I could be cruising in nuetral down a hill with the engine at 1000 rpm and as it slows to 56 mph, the ting ting ting starts again until it gets down to 51 mph.
I looked under the coach thoroughly and can't find anything. Where does the speedometer cable connect to on these things? My last p30 connected at the tranny. I was thinking maybe it was the cable binding at certain revolutions.
btw, it sounds like something is hitting an exhaust pipe but the exhaust pipes are clear of anything. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Using Slide-out, Does engine or genny need to be on??

So I'm showing off my new to me moho this past weekend. It's an 02 Sea Breeze 8311. So I start putting out the main slide and both my friend and his wife yell STOP! They say I need to have the engine or the generator running to help the slide motor or it will burn out.
Now I am rather savy with electical stuff and the only thing the engine or genny provide will be a full power from the battery. So it might be an extra .5 volts.
For those of you that have picked up a new moho from a dealer and have had a walk through, does this wives tale hold water? Thanks

RE: Washing your rig before a trip??

I wash the outside religously before every trip. When we return, the wife & I have a routine where the interior is spotless in less than an hour. Bugs get washed off the front and we put her away. Our trips are usually 5 days or less. On a long trip, I'll wash her during the trip.
Gotta have a clean ride!!!

RE: How will fuel prices affect your use of your Class A

We have a trip to S. Lake Tahoe in August. It's a 900 mile round trip from So. Cal and we are going with multiple families. Most of the families are complaining about the gas prices so I have started looking for alternative camgrounds that will shorten our trip by 200 to 400 miles. Since we've been to Grover Hot Springs multiple times, this gives us a chance to find other campgrounds instead of going to the same old place. As much as we will miss Grover Hot Springs, we will make the best of it. Yes it sucks but we gotta make the best of it!!!!

RE: Mammoth Lakes, Ca camping recommendations?

Kathie,
Grover Hot Springs is heaven!!!. I don't think you can boondock there (what is boondocking reallY??). Probably a week max. Anyways, it's just heaven, but heaven is getting to be to expensive to get to from So. Cal. Go to reserveamerica for reservations.

RE: Mammoth Lakes, Ca camping recommendations?

OK, I'm going to pick your mind again. I went to the reservation site and it shows that all sites are group campsites. I don't have a problem with that because we will be in a group but do you remember if there are any individual sites. Thanks again.

RE: Mammoth Lakes, Ca camping recommendations?

Thanks for the response. We have been going to Grover for a good 15 years now but the drive will just be to costly. Are Shady Rest or Pine Glenn similar to Grover or are they within the city. I am familiar with Mammoth since we used to ski there regularly but we never paid attention to the camping.
We don't have any major activities planned. Going to be a flat lining vacation. Ride the bicylces a bit and do some day hiking but more or less just read a book and have some drinks. Thanks

Mammoth Lakes, Ca camping recommendations?

We are scheduled to go camping to Grover Hot Springs near Lake Tahoe in August but we are looking for somthing a bit closer to So. Cal. We prefer dry and secluded camping like Grover. Anybody have any experiences on any campgrounds in or near Mammoth Lakes. We have a 31' Class A. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers

RE: Cannot get Onan genny to start

Check the choke, there should be a manual wire on top of the chokle that you can push over to actuate the choke. Hold it while you try starting it. It's worked for me in the past when the genny would just turn and turn!!
